“Do the write thing”
“Savoir Faire” is collection of 40 poems by Ashwini Dodani. The poems are based on the happenings of your daily life. Good or bad, happy or sad, there is a poem for every situation. The emotions and experiences that one goes through are all given the form of poetry in this book. Each poem is unique, different in its own right. The feelings of love to despair, despair to finding some hope are all brought out in a beautiful way.
I loved reading all the 40 poems in the poem. And there are some poems in particular which are worth mentioning- “Conversation”, “That beautiful night”, “Not perfect”, “That beautiful Kohl eyed girl” and “Love is”. Each poem has something to say, something that you can connect to. I also loved “Ode to poetry” and “The Last drop of that Mighty Ink”. The best part of the book is that the language that the poet uses is simple and easy to understand. Simple vocabulary without the use of any complicated words makes it easy to read. Simple words when beautifully strung together are a delight and this helps the reader connect better with poems.
I love poetry and the lines in the preface which the author describes poetry made me want to read the book immediately. The book can be read in one sitting. It just took me two hours to read this book. So if you are looking for a lovely collection of poems, “Savoir Faire” is a good choice!

The book to me is a combination of both, it is adapted as per the flow of the poems and whatever was written depicted authority and maturity which comes only when you have expertise in what you do.

  5. […] Today I’ve the pleasure of hosting the wonderful poet Ashwini Dodani on my blog. He is a Brand Strategist based out of Mumbai, India. He’s been writing poetry since the age of 20 and considers words as a release. Savoir Faire, his first poetry book, features poems from his collection over years and is somewhere related to his own experiences and thoughts. You can read my review of his book here. […]
