Count your blessings #WednesdayVerses

On a grumpy Monday morning,
While I try to reach the terror called the office,
I’m forced to take the road less taken without a warning.
I keep worrying about the zillion things on my mind,
Wondering where life is taking me,
Because the time for myself, I cannot find.
As I look out, I find the most beautiful smiles,
On the faces of people,
Who have definitely been through life’s trials.
Though with needs barely met,
Joy abounds plenty,
The kind that money cannot get!
What brings them so much joy, I wonder,
Is it in those little things that I often ignore,
Has it been my life’s blunder?
Often thinking about things are not,
The ones I do not have,
I’ve failed to count all the blessings I’ve got.
As I move closer to where I’m bound,
I realize I’ve often overlooked the journey,
Ignoring the little joys around.
If there’s one thing that we often forget,
It is to count your blessings,
And not live with regrets.

I guess we all go through life and realise the truth behind the beauty in small things only in retrospect and then, of course, there is no looking back. Must say you’ve been there pretty early on, Reema to have composed such a beautiful poem out of your emotions. I’m in for the challenge this week since last week I was grappling with a few nagging issues and couldn’t get around to writing the poem I so wanted to!
Have a wonderfully blessed week ahead, Reema. May your life bloom with all those little amazing wonderful things!!
Cheers
Thank you so much. And yes, I can understand about not being able to write. Life gets in the way sometimes.
First of all, I can’t stop looking at this picture. It has such a story. And your take on it is perfect. There’s so much we can learn and so much we’ve got to be grateful for.
The picture is beautiful isn’t it? and yes, being grateful is really important. Thank you for reading.
So beautifully put, Reema. We indeed need to count our blessings amidst this chaotic world.
Thank you Soumya.
This picture is AMAZING! Love the verse too!
Thank you Damyanti.
“I keep worrying about the zillion things on my mind,
Wondering where life is taking me,
Because the time for myself, I cannot find.”
This spoke to me, as did the rest of your poem, Reema. Just what I need today. Thank you.
I’m glad you could connect with the poem. Thank you for reading.
So true. We worry about all the big things or the things we think are big and forget to realise that there are so many little joys to be found all around.
Yes, we often need little reminders to look at the brighter side of life as well.
Beautifully said. A life is well lived when it comprises of little moments that fills our souls. Regrets won’t make anyone happy.
Thank you Rajlakshmi.
