Be your own sunshine #WednesdayVerses

We rush through life,
Always having something to do,
For we don’t have the time,
To take things slow.
We think about yesterdays,
Worrying what tomorrow has in store.
We wait forever for better days,
Forgetting to live in the present.
Our worries and troubles never cease,
There is no time to be here and now.
We fail to put our minds at ease,
From all the burdens that we carry.
We chase our dreams,
Forgetting to celebrate our little wins.
Till we reach the point when our heart screams,
What life is this, with no time to live?
So remember to take things slow,
Dance to your own music,
And yes, wherever you go,
Be your own sunshine.

Beautiful verse! So important to remain in the present, to slow down sometimes and enjoy the little things, and yet, to be our own sunshine!
Thank you Shinjini.
Loved your poem, Reema. The story of our lives—all of us going through these phases and then one day, we realise life is not what we intended it to be. I’m joining you this week with a poem! Would love to know what you think. 🙂
Thank you Esha. Will read your poem.
I’m wearing bright yellow today and feel like sunshine already 😀
You are so right, once you are responsible for your own happiness, nothing can take you down.
I feel awesome on the days when I wear bright yellow 😀
We spend so much time thinking about the past and our future that we never live our present to the fullest.
Yes, this is a mistake that we often make.
Such a great reminder, Reema!
Thank you for reading.
That’s so true, Reema. We keep looking at others for our happiness and forget to find it in every little thing we do or achieve in our everyday lives. Every little win deserves to be celebrated; every little achievement needs to be celebrated with pride, for we worked hard for it. And, every moment needs to be lived to its fullest, without wondering what tomorrow will bring with it.
Yes, celebrating little things, celebrating things that are right with us is something that we often forget to do.
“Till we reach the point when our heart screams, What life is this, with no time to live?” is the most important checkpoint in our lives replete with a lot of doings and with little or no time left for being. Wise words.
Thank you Anamika.
Very well expressed Reema and I must say it’s difficult to be ones own sunshine as we are forever bogged down by so much stuff that we need to take care of. We often lose sight of what’s important to us till it’s too late.
Thank you Shalz.
Such a good reminder of the fact that we need to slow down and savor life – right now! Beautifully penned, Reema!
A good reminder (goes along with my #OneWord365 – “observant”!)
This is an excellent reminder to stop and smell the roses. Your words brilliantly depicts how busy we have become to even count our blessings.
That’s a wonderful message to live and enjoy the present
I had commented on this post last week, but maybe it went into spam?
So am back here to say I loved this verse. An important reminder we can all do with – from time to time.
