A part of my soul #WednesdayVerses

soul

I grew up dreaming,

Of life filled with laughter,

Like a story that would end,

With happily ever after.

But then things changed,

Then trouble came.

And life I thought,

Would never be the same.

For that one thing broke me,

Making tiny pieces of my little soul.

I cried night and day,

Afraid that I’d never again feel whole.

I tried fixing things,

Praying that you’d come back.

Looking for you in the little things,

To see if a piece of your soul, you left back.

And then I found pieces of your soul,

In the people I met,

Whose lives you’d touched,

And they would never forget.

You’d chosen to do your bit for others,

Leaving a part of you wherever you’d gone.

You’d brought smiles on so many faces,

Your legacy would live on.

That is when I decided,

To leave a part of me wherever I went.

To bring a smile on someone’s face,

To make sure that each day was well spent.

For I realized that life could be short,

But my deeds could live on forever.

My soul would never be whole,

Unless I chose to live a life of sharing, come whatever.
