There are so many things,

That I want to do.

So many dreams,

That I want to chase.

There are places,

That I want to go!

There are times,

When I wish I could travel in time.

But life doesn’t work that way,

For often we are stuck in a rut.

Can I just go away,

To a place and time of my choice?

Why do I have to be,

Stuck in a place?

Why do I have to be,

Here and now?

Can I live two lives,

Of my choice at once?

Or at least can I escape,

This reality just once?

I’m participating in the A to Z Challenge and the National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) . I’m trying to weave poems around unusual words or words from other languages that are just beautiful.

  3. Sometimes I do wish for that.

  4. I enjoy your poetry – the rhythm and flow of words. I’ve never thought about it but I too wish I could do more, be more. Be in two places at one time or live two distinct lives. But, since I have trouble fitting things into a 24-hour period at work right now, does that mean I’d have twice as much to do? Keep up the good work.
