I bury myself at times,

In the depths of sorrow,

Falling down each time,

I try to climb,

Out of that never ending pit.

And then when I’m happy,

I soar and I fly,

High above the clouds,

My spirit in a state of euphoria,

And then I fall again.

I oscillate between extremes,

Not knowing what normal means.

Is it because I take to heart,

Every little thing?

Is it because I care,

A little too much?

Or is this just,

Me being me?

I don’t want a lot from life,

Nor will a little be okay.

Not too much,

Not too little.

I need just right,

For I need balance.

Lagom : Not too much, not too little. Just right.

Language: Swedish

I’m participating in the A to Z Challenge and the National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) . I’m trying to weave poems around unusual words or words from other languages that are just beautiful.

  5. Lagom is the correct word for life. Though we expect too much from life and feel sad if we get too less. If we stop expecting and accept life as it is, it will be in the right portion.

Oh, I too prefer it ‘not too much, nor too little’, I like it ‘just right’! 🙂

  7. Lovely poem and lovely word!
