#WednesdayVerses : Words

Words they say,

Have the power to kill,

But then words,

Have also the power to heal.

In words I find solace,

While I search within me,

And find those shards of pain,

That bring back tears.

Words are my comfort,

When things don’t go bad,

The burden seems lighter,

When with words it is shared.

Words are my weapon,

To vent out the anger.

Though words spoken in anger,

Leave things broken,

I write them out,

So that they are out of my system.

I hide myself under my words,

When I don’t feel ready for the world.

I drown myself in words so deep,

That I begin to live in a world of my own.

With words I hope to bring smiles,

With my words I hope I can go the extra mile.

With words I grow,

With words I find myself at ease.

If I was to ever turn over a new leaf in life,

If there was something that I wouldn’t let go,

It would be my words,

For I’d write turn over a new page and write again.

I wonder what I would have done if I hadn’t been a writer! I love words, too! They happen to be my best friends. 🙂

  3. Your words are extremely poignant for me because I stopped writing for a while and it seems to have resulted in health issues from stress. Words help express all those emotions we hold inside. Words are powerful and healing.

Ah, yes! The magic of words that helps me too, in facing the day and braving through the odds in life! I can safely say that every writer will vouch for the thoughts you’ve penned in this poem! Beautifully written and yes, I’m linking up after a long time for #wednesdayverses.
