#WednesdayVerses : Anger
Like the scorching heat of the summer sun,
Anger burns things down.
But it isn’t a battle won,
For it burns you along.
It flows within you,
Leaving you restless.
And you don’t know how it grew,
But in the end, it leaves you helpless!
A few words spoken,
Which weren’t supposed to be mean,
Now leave you broken,
More than you’ve ever been.
But often anger isn’t fury or rage,
It is the pain of betrayal and of the unexpected.
You’ll find it at every stage,
But the art of dealing with it, never perfected.
As a part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Vinay and I have started this weekly prompt which we’ve decided to call Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. Please add your post links to the linky only if you have written for the prompt. We are happy to have you rhyme with us.Prompt #24 is “Anger”.
