#WednesdayVerses : Fragments of time

rare

Into the oblivion I stare,

As I look back on life.

I sift through the memories,

And find the ones now rare.

I go back to the good old days,

As I reminisce the moments gone by.

I’m filled with a longing to turn back time,

To the time when my dreams I did chase.

These days life rushes past,

As if on a never ending march.

The moments of peace and solitude now rare,

I feel life is going by too fast.

The things I once took for granted,

I now wish I could bring them back.

Because those simple joys are now rare,

The past looks enchanted.

There are moments that I wish I could live again,

There are memories that I wish I could change.

But I know I can’t go back in time,

I walk ahead as I treasure it all with a twinge of pain.

As a part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Vinay and I have started this weekly prompt which we’ve decided to call Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. Please add your post links to the linky only if you have written for the prompt. We are happy to have you rhyme with us.Prompt #22 is “Rare”.

So true Reema. I so remember & miss my days spent in school with friends now. At that time I just wanted to become an adult soon and now I miss those carefree days.
