#MondayMusings : Of finding positives
On most Mondays, we hate going to work. In fact, we hate the thought of Mondays. Sunday evenings are spent by being sad for the weekend that went by too soon. Our perspective towards Monday is a negative one. So is perspective towards life these days! Think about it for a moment.
We are surrounded by a lot of negative thoughts and emotions. The news these days is filled with only news of people dying, crying or in some sort of difficult situation. There is war. There is enmity. There is hatred. There is pain and there are tears. In our daily lives we come across more negative thoughts and emotions. But is negativity overtaking positivity?
Yes and No!
Yes! Because we see what we choose to see. I agree there that there are a lot of things going wrong in the world. But does that mean that there is nothing going right in the world? Definitely not. But we choose to see the negatives. Yes, our media fills us with a lot of negative news. We should be aware of the things going wrong around us, but shouldn’t we also act upon it and make it something better?
Instead of focusing on everything that is going wrong, may be its time we need to focus upon something good. But how do we do that? We can’t wait for something good to happen. Someone has to make it happen. And that someone is you.
Are you complaining about the things going wrong with you that you almost want to cry? Then get up, wipe those tears away and do something. If not for yourself, do something for someone else. Make someone else smile today and that would definitely bring a smile on someone’s face. Our troubles are troubles only until we choose to see them that way. Instead of complaining about all that’s going wrong, can we not look at all the things that are going right?
So today go spread a smile. Leave a heartprint somewhere. If you are too tired of things going wrong, take a chance and do something good, look for positives. Your smile will return. There is a lot of good to be given, received and appreciated. Go spread some smiles now!

I agree Reema. If we change the way we see things, it will make a difference. Iam learning to observe even small positives around me and feel grateful.
Such a lovely post I read right in the morning! Thanks for this Reema. This sets the perfect tone for the rest of the day and the week! Really true, we see what we choose to see 🙂 So then see only the positive, and everything will be alright with the world!
So true, instead of complaining we need to change the way we look at things. perfect for Monday.
True, the media only shows the grey side of the world, very rarely does it highlight the good and positive things happening across the world.
Good take on the prompt. Nice post to pump us up and chase away Monday blues!
Helping others does make one feel good inside. If we see only the negatives then we start feeling stressed out and sad. The trick is to focus on the positives. Great post, Reema.
You are right, Reema. Instead of grumbling about the wrongs in our life, if we spare a minute to give thanks to the things going right, we will be a lot more positive and happy! Practicing gratitude and making others happy is what holds the key to our happiness and positivity in life!:)
leaving a HEARTPRINT at our all your readers heart… My words are getting extinct… I think.. From you I need to borrow SOME… To say that u are AWESOME….
A good post to bring the challenge to a close. I agree with you that it’s all in our mind. I like Mondays. It feels like a fresh start 🙂
That’s such a motivating post – perfect for a Monday. Rather than complaining about a situation if each of us got up and did something about it we’d be in a better space.
Yes, go spread some smile. I agree, Reema, it’s all in the way we choose to look at things. There always is positivity, but somehow we tend to see only the negative side. What a motivating post this is, Reema.
