From darkness to light

candle light

Things around me don’t seem to go my way,
For it all looks dark and gloomy,
And all my hope seems to fade away.

It is so dark that I cannot see,
The path that I am walking on.
And I don’t know if I am free!

I try to find my way in the dark,
But I stumble, I fall.
Will I ever find my spark?

It is easier to just stay here,
And wait for it all to end.
Slowly, all my strength begins to disappear.

And then I see it,
A tiny flame of light,
Inspired, I decide not to quit.

I walk towards the source of light,
But the journey seems too long,
Yet, I decide not to give up without a fight.

With each step that I take,
I feel a little stronger.
I promise myself that I won’t break!

The wind blows making the light flicker,
Just when I feel that I’m almost there.
And I take my steps quicker.

And I see the light,
A tiny little candle burning bright.
Yes, it is a lovely sight.

Even a little spark of light is enough,
To dispel darkness, no matter how dark.
With a little bit of hope, you can walk on roads rough!
