Ray of hope

As the sun rises in the sky,
The night makes way for the day,
It is time to give it another try.

The night was difficult in its own way,
I’d lost hope of seeing the light,
And all I could do was just pray.

I’m not the one to give up without a fight,
No matter how difficult is the task at hand,
For I do the thing that is right!

I can see the light from where I stand,
It isn’t so far and I’ve to keep moving,
For I know what awaits me is something grand.

This poem is a Terza Rima (Yeah something that sounds like my name). Terza rima is a rhyming verse stanza form that consists of an interlocking three-line rhyme scheme. It was first used by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. The literal translation of terza rima from Italian is ‘third rhyme’. Terza rima is a three-line stanza using chain rhyme in the pattern A-B-A, B-C-B, C-D-C, D-E-D.
