#AtoZChallenge : To the Past

Dear Past,
 Looking back – that
is something that I always do. From the time when I was a kid I loved looking
back at the little memories that I kept making on the way. The first day at
school, the friends that I made, the games that I played and all of that forms
a part of you. As I grew up, I only kept adding to that treasure trove of
memories. While the happy ones I was glad to remember, the sad and painful ones
I tried to forget- but I think what hurts the most stays the longer.
As a little girl, my life was so full of happy memories.
There were sad ones too, but they were few, very few. Growing up from being a
kid to a teenager also meant that more sad and painful memories were added.
Some things about you are still remembered and some are long forgotten.
You dear past have given me great memories. These 23 years
of life that I have lived have been an interesting journey. But I’m sure I just
can’t keep living in you. I can’t rest on the laurels of my past. I’ve to get
better each day, I have to improve. And I can’t go back and think about the
bitter memories, the pain, the anguish, the tears that I’ve cried. It has all
happened and it cannot change. It is useless for me to go back and think about
you. But I can pick up all those lessons that you taught me albeit the hard
way.

I cannot permanently leave you behind nor can I carry you
along all the time. You have been there. You have played your part. Some things
about you I may forget and some things I will remember for a long time to come.
Things will get added to you as I live each day. You are a part of me and hence
you cannot be entirely forgotten. I think I will visit you occasionally because
I have to.

The past is beautiful. With all the best and worst bits, it's still the most special. 🙂

Past is gone but it makes us learn and those memories stay with us. What's today will be past tomorrow.

  4. Love the way you addressed the past. Stay Blessed! Hugs!

  5. The past always haunts me… Can never be truly forgotten, yet it gives meaning and direction to our future.

  6. The past is something like a fridge. You can store old memories in there, but after sometime they'll just rot, and then you have to throw them away. however, some keep on existing because they need the cold to survive, and those memories are always retrieved back, whenever we need them! 🙂

  7. Past is just to look back and learn but at times it's difficult to keep that bag full of memories that blind our future vision. So, it's good you have left that just to make your present and future more beautiful. I am sure past will definitely accept your letter full of love and lessons 🙂

The past ,the prsent and the future
    This three go all together.

The hardest thing is erasing memories which we don't like .

Also I read and learned thatwe should learn from past instead of regretting or saying my life was good before .

The past is always a visiting post. Not a hiking post. You should visit occasionally but never stay there.

    Wonderful post Reema!
