Solitude

I was tired of the race I was running,
No time to savour the moment, no time to rest.
All that mattered was just winning,
As if life was a never ending test.
I was tired of the daily din,
The clanging noises of the words with no meaning.
No place for emotions to be let in,
For there was no place for feeling.
From this place I wanted to go away,2
To a place where I could find peace.
I longed for it both night and day,
I wanted to set my heart at ease.
Alone I had longed to be,
But beware not lonely.
For my own best friend I could always be,
I just wished I could be in a place I felt homely.
In nature I got what I wanted,
For in her arms I found solace.
For the seed of peace it planted,
Was now my saving grace.
A wave of tranquillity swept over me,
This was what I was yearning for,
For here I could just be me,
Solitude was what I was looking for.

Beautiful. Sometimes we need solitude to rejuvenate ourselves.
beautiful..
Yes, nature can be such a healing friend for us. Quite a sentimentally expressive poem, this.
