#WednesdayVerses : In search of light
Darkness surrounds you,
In veils of despair,
Tightly pulling you,
While to breathe you search for air.
What would you do?
Where would you go?
You wish you only knew,
The place where light would glow!
You begin your quest for light,
But blinded by fear, you see no way.
But will you choose to fight?
Or will you in darkness stay?
Though for long you’ve longed for light,
Darkness is all that you see.
You wonder what you didn’t do right,
You search for that missing key!
While you searched for light,
Did you search within?
Out of darkness comes the light,
But in light you’ve always been!
For while looking around,
You failed to know,
That light was within you to be found,
Your insecurities never let it grow!

As part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Vinay and I have started this weekly prompt which we’ve decided to call as Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. Please add your post links to the linky only if you have written for the prompt. We are happy to have you rhyme with us.
Reema, it’s a beautiful poem. Sometimes we fail to self reflect and end up getting lost. We are enough, this is a mantra to remember and repeat when in doubt.
The poem is truly inspiring, reflective and empowering to overturn the tide. We are born to do something special and extraordinary 🙂

What a truly inspiring poem this is, Reema!❤ Yes, the light is always within us and merely needs to be awakened. Beautifully penned 🙂
Lovely idea, Reema! Apt ending to the poem–our inner critic is generally the culprit which holds us back from achieving our potential.
Beautiful poem Reema. Everyone has a light from within.
Will you in darkness stay? This is what I seem to be asking myself every day.
Beautifully written, Reema.

Loved this one. Insecurities make us hide under a veil of darkness. It is time to let that go.

It’s difficult to let go of insecurities, find the light. Because we’re used to the darkness. Hope that that light isn’t ignored for long. 🙂 Lovely verse.
I love this one Reema; the light is always within us — we just need to let it shine through
