My Mom and Dad

drawing“Anjali, do your homework”, shouted Meena at the top of her voice as she hurried along to prepare dinner after a long day at work. Usually it took a lot of effort to get Anjali to do her homework, but today was different. Smiling, Anjali took out her box of colour pencils and drawing book and began her drawing assignment.
After she’d finished cooking, Meena went to check on Anjali and was pleasantly surprised as she showed her a drawing of the two of them. Tears welled up in Meena’s eyes because beside her drawing, Anjali had scrawled “My Mom and Dad”
