Over a cuppa
“If we were having coffee on that first date, we wouldn’t have been together! I still remember that day distinctly. Those were wonderful times! “, she said as she sipped some tea. The tea was the way she’d liked except for the sugar that had disappeared over time.
She sat there for a while, slowly sipping the tea, as memories kept coming back. She remembered the numerous conversations that she had with him, many of them over a cup of tea. The smiles they shared, the tears that come along, the struggles they faced, the memories they made- it all kept coming back. But he wouldn’t.
She got up and picked up the cup of tea that was kept in front of his picture. Having tea with him was a habit that she wouldn’t break.
“Since you aren’t drinking this, its mine”, she said wiping away the tears that had slowly welled up in her eyes and were now flowing down her wrinkled cheeks.
Time had passed, but the memories and the pain had remained.

If we were having coffee, I would tell her to cherish those dreams and memories and just be happy that they happened.
Beautiful take on the prompt. 🙂
I hope her pain subsides with time and all that which remains is the sweetness of the happy memories with him.
That’s a lovely take on the prompt. Hope she gets over the pain for him and through his memories. Congratulations on completing the challenge!

These are just few lines, but it made me so sad to read this. I can not imagine what life must be after loosing a loved one. I honestly don’t even want to imagine.
