#MondayMusings: Like a flower

Last Saturday I visited the flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore. It is a bi-annual affair which happens every Independence day and Republic Day. Being a flower lover I wanted to visit it and trust me it was a Saturday well spent. But this post is not about the flower show yet it is about flowers.
Monday mornings are the toughest. After having a lovely time during the weekend it is hard to get back to work. It is difficult. But this Monday morning, I choose to draw inspiration from flowers.
Like a flower, I choose to bloom from a bud- to grow each day no matter how little I grow each day.
Like a flower, I choose to add beauty to my life and the lives of people around me.
Like a flower, I choose to spread the fragrance of happiness. A good deed, a kind word or may be just a smile.
Like a flower, I choose to rise above the dirt that brings me down and choose to bloom in light of the sun.
Like a flower, I choose to add colour to my otherwise mundane surroundings.
Like a flower, I choose to be gentle and not harsh, but take firm stand on the things that are right.
Like a flower, I choose to sway in the wind and bend if need be. Not because I am weak but because sometimes it is better to suffer a little than break away and die.
Like a flower, I choose to live my life doing what I love to and just being myself.
Nicely written, well done!
Thank you Josly 🙂
Beautiful. Like a flower , this poem is also beautiful. 🙂
Thank you Deepa 🙂
I have been to lalbagh flower show only once,. That year they made an Eiffel Tower out of flowers. It was fabulous…. I can imagine how wonderful you must have felt.
This time they made the replica of a Gol Gumbaz. It was wonderful experience indeed!
Beautiful poem. I love flowers too.
Thank you
Oh wow… I remember the flower show in Lalbagh. As a kid my father used to take me every year. And the ones inside the green house would often be my favourite ones… Glad they still have this show. I love flowers and every since I have moved out of Bangalore…. I am yet to see something as beautiful as it.
Yes they still have it and it was my first time. I really enjoyed it!
This is such a beautiful poem. I too love clicking pictures of flowers though I am not too good at growing them.
Thank you
You are beautiful as a flower inside out
Thank you
There really are so many lessons we can pick up from flowers. That’s a lovely post. Flower shows were a part of my growing up years. That smell of fresh cut grass and chrysanthemums and the shehnai on the loudspeaker (that was pretty melancholy yet part of my happy memory) – those are the things I will always remember from the countless flower shows I went to.
Yes and a lot of them are so important!
A flower you are. The strongest and prettiest one at that 🙂
Thank you Soumya!
That is beautiful:-) I often find inspiration in flowers too, nature….
Thank you!
You sure do love ‘Flowers’! 🙂
And you are certainly inspired by it. Nice one, Reema!
Thank you Sid !
Beautiful lines. Like a flower, I love to smile always … 🙂
Thank you
Beautiful thoughts. Like they say, a seed never knows it is destined to bloom 🙂
I have also always loved flowers. Just today I clicked a couple shots 🙂 and lal bags flower show is beautiful. I once even did a post on it. Just that it’s so crowded that I have stopped going. :/
Yeah it is crowded but this was my first time at the show. So I decided to go.
Oops! Where did my comment go?
Those are some beautiful life lessons that we can learn and imbibe in our loves from flowers.
Thank you Shilpa
We see flowers as being pretty for the same reason we love the stars, a sunset/sunrise, mountains, the tropical ocean, and all other forms of natural beauty. It’s coincidence. It’s still beautiful though. Flowers make an emotional impact on us and provide comfort and consideration.Being in the presence of flowers triggers happy emotion and heightens feelings of life satistifaction
