The Write World: A world full of words
“In a world of full of things which are right and wrong, I decided to just write!”
Yes, my dear readers Reem Writes is now The Write World!
But why this change?
When I first began my blog, I had no clue about what blogging really is. I just wanted to write my heart out. Using the little bit of knowledge that I had thanks to a session in college about blogging and the assignment that followed, I decided to create my blog. Not much thought went into the name of the blog or the header or the theme. Name “Reem Writes” . The tagline evolved over the years. I used a default theme. Yes that was me back then. I didn’t bother about the look and feel of the blog and many times I forgot that I even had a blog!
Over the years things changed. I got to read many awesome bloggers and they read me back. The number of visitors began to increase, not in great measure but they did increase. And then it struck me that I had to make my blog look good. It was only then that the endless experiments with various themes, colour schemes and fonts began. Being a free blogspot blog, I didn’t have freedom. But I tried as much as I could. The number of posts kept increasing and then I wanted to move my blog to self hosted website. But then being the procrastinator that I am, I kept putting it off! Until my best friend Ramya won a contest and decided to gift me her prize. The prize of a self hosted website.
The move to self hosted WordPress gave me more freedom. The themes were better and honestly I didn’t work much on making the look and feel of the blog better. Again, it was just minor changes with existing themes. And yes, the tagline changed over the years. But one thing remained constant over the years. The name. Reem Writes.
But I knew that I had to change it. I have been thinking about it for a while now, but as usual I kept putting it off. I have been blogging for almost 5 years now. I thought it is time now for my blog to have an identity of its own. I didn’t want it to be an extension or modification of my name. Hence I decided to change it.
Next came the most difficult part. What do I call it? I thought about it a lot. I came up with a list of boring and also crazy names. I even asked friends. For some reason “The Write World” stuck a cord with me. My blog is my little world where I just write and hence calling it “The Write World” made sense. The tagline also has undergone a minor change. I decided on this change of name some time ago but then I kept myself from making this change. At the beginning of this year, I made a promise to myself that I won’t write another post unless I change the name of the blog. Now you know why I didn’t write a single post since this year began.
There were obstacles- an unstable internet connection being the worst! But I knew that I had to do this. And you know what is the best part? I am at home, typing from the same corner of my room where my blogging journey began.
Change is an essential part of life. I hope this change to my blog will work in a good way. Looking forward to hear your views about the same.

Aww congraats and a nice little post on your blog’s evolution! 🙂 I was browsing through FB and suddenly saw a page that read ‘The Write World’ and I thought, ‘I did not subscribe for something like that. But it looks impressive!’ and then I realised what happened. My point is, it does have a professional touch to it and I am sure the blog will grow further 🙂
