Take me back #WednesdayVerses

Take me back

With a long list of things to do,

From one thing to the next I run,

Caught in this mess, I wonder,

Wasn’t life supposed to be fun?

My body craves for that restful sleep,

While I battle through nightmares of tomorrow.

My mind craves for those moments of peace,

But I end up in the depths of sorrow.

Life has become a crazy race,

And I long for those days before.

Take me back to the time,

When smiles were more.

When I was little, I wanted to grow up,

Because being an adult looked great.

But growing up was such a mistake,

For life now is in a perpetually crazy state.

Take me back to the time,

When all I had to worry about was homework being done,

When tears were wiped away in no time,

Take me back to the time when life was fun.

The longing of carefree childhood days will never end. I can feel your words. Beautifully expressed.
