I thought the world,

Was a cold place,

Bereft of feelings,

And of humanity.

For no one understood,

My dreams and aspirations.

My mistakes and scars,

Were all that they saw.

No one had the time,

For a warm smile.

A kind word or deed,

Seemed never to exist.

And then you came.

You set afire,

The fear and inhibitions,

That came in the way,

Of me pursuing my dreams.

You instilled in me,

A new hope.

For some kindness,

Was all I needed to go on.

The world is still,

Quite a cold place.

But the warmth of your love,

Makes it a better place.
