#WednesdayVerses : Siesta

Siesta

The world seems like an amazing place,

As I gaze in awe of the beauty around me.

This was the kind of life I wanted to embrace,

A life of calm and letting things be!

The gentle afternoon breeze,

Lulls me to slumber deep.

I resign, making myself at ease,

As I slowly fall asleep.

A loud noise wakes me up,

And I look around with a start.

The noise was the breaking of my cup,

And I’d slept at work while trying to do my part.

I had wandered into the territory of a siesta,

Without realizing where I was going.

I was lost in a dreamy fiesta,

For the burden of work seemed boring.

While running from one task to the next,

I wonder where I am going.

With no time to take some rest,

Life shows no signs of slowing.

I wish I could go back to the days of old,

When I was a little kid without a worry or care.

Then to take a siesta I was told,

And to rebel, I’d just stare.

The ways of life are strange,

But we can never go back.

Oh if it all could be arranged,

I’d just go back to taking a nap!

That was so cute and so true! How I wish I, too, could just go and take a never-ending nap…like forget-the-world-let-me-sleep kind of nap! 😛

  2. Sometimes, a nap is the solution to everything. I’m certainly taking one this afternoon. 🙂

Such a cute lil post this one 🙂

However, I’m not the one for napping. If I sleep, it has to be a good 3-4 hours, else I end up feeling very cranky 😛

  4. The luxury of a good nap. Unfortunately not for a difficult sleeper like me.
