I find myself lost,
In the madness of this world.
For I find myself tossed,
By the troubles of this world.

As a child, I had a dream,
That I’d grow up to find myself.
All I hear now is my heart’s silent scream,
I live a life that belongs to someone else.

For how long will I go on,
With dreams that are not my own?
Or have my dreams long gone,
Leaving me all alone?

Though life passes by fast,
I live through the suffering and pain,
I journey on still feeling lost,
Will I someday find myself again?

As a part of our resolution to write more poetry in 2018, Vinay and I have started this weekly prompt which we’ve decided to call Wednesday Verses. Each Wednesday, we’ll be writing a poem based on the prompt of the week, and sharing a linky. We invite you all to join us with your own poems on the prompt. Write on your blogs, and link up with #WednesdayVerses. Please add your post links to the linky only if you have written for the prompt. We are happy to have you rhyme with us. Prompt #27 is “Lost”.

I found this website on a most unusual page that features energy and environmental news. Because I am curious, I opened it and I am so glad I did.

The poem is not only haunting, a cry for help, but it is also a snapshot of the world we live in today, in my opinion. It is beautiful.
