My Mom and Dad

After she’d finished cooking, Meena went to check on Anjali and was pleasantly surprised as she showed her a drawing of the two of them. Tears welled up in Meena’s eyes because beside her drawing, Anjali had scrawled “My Mom and Dad”

nice thoughts thanks for sharing with us
Mom and Dad are favourite characters for most children’s drawings!
Nicely written!
Sweet, brings back memories of my now-adult son when he was young.
Such a lovely heartwarming tale, Reema!
So cute! Mom and dad are often the first pictures in a child’s art work!
So cute, Reema. You have narrated so well.
This was so simple and yet so touching!
This is the story of a single mom – right, who’s both mom and dad to the little girl?
Beautiful and I often did this as a child:)
Children know just how to press the right buttons. You’ve captured this so well Reema.
Blogging is the new poetry. I find it wonderful and amazing in many ways.
Children can be so amazing, so easily they lift our moods, and yet make us emotional. 🙂 Thank you for a lovely story to my prompt!
such a cute read 🙂
Haaye…………was my response to this cute post

This is so beautiful! Being a single parent is tough but such unexpected acknowledgement by your child makes it all worth it.
A Child must have wisdom in his thoughts. Touching; Life is not that easy for a single parent.
Such a cute, crisp story. Loved it
This is such a cute story. Kids love to draw their family and parents pics.
Such a delightful short story. I wish all homework was like this…about creativity and imagination rather than stressful rote learning.
How cute is that! I almost can visualize Bluey doing that in a years time!
That’s so heartwarming! What a lovely tale! 🙂
Wow this is such a beautiful story. I believe its really difficult to write a short story as the essence has to be captured in very few words. And have done it very well. Lovely to come across your blog.

Undeniably a beautiful story, Reema 🙂
That’s truly beautiful and heartwarming :).
Frankly speaking I wanted to read more only for one reason..if you can capture the emotion so beautifully in such a short story then how a full length story will be?
Loved reading it. Kids are the messanger of God. They are so pure and always speak from their heart..
Seems that the child’s dad is away and she is missing him too much , coloured pencils and dad’s memory color the child’s heart too
There couldn’t be a better picture. Mom and Dad are like superheroes to their kids. Loved it!
Its such small things which bring utmost happiness 🙂
Beautiful story. Children tend to draw their parents / family first often.
