#AtoZChallenge : Theme Reveal
After the wonderful experience that I had participating in the A to Z challenge last year, this year I didn’t even thinking a second time before deciding to sign up for the challenge. Last year was the first time I took up the challenge. I was really worried if I’d be able to complete the challenge. I not only completed the challenge, but I got to learn a lot from the challenge. Choosing a theme and sticking to it for all the letters of the alphabet, making sure that a post went live every single day, reading, commenting and sharing on as many posts as possible wasn’t all easy. But nothing could beat that feeling when I completed the challenge except that feeling of publishing my own ebook based on the posts that I wrote for the challenge.
Let me not dwell on the success of the challenge last year and concentrate on what I intend to do this. When taking up a challenge like A to Z Challenge, it is always good to have a theme. It is easier that way because you don’t have to think about the whole wide universe to figure out what to write. Though having a theme makes it easier to write your posts for the challenge, choosing a theme is definitely not an easy job. Last year I chose to write letters because I miss the charm of writing and receiving letters. This year I was clueless what to write about and I kept thinking about things that I could write about. It was my dear blogger friend Chandni who helped in choosing my theme. So what is my theme?
“Life and times of a twenty something”
Why did I choose this?
Because I am a twenty something!
But why again?
There is so much that happens in our twenties. I’m somewhere near the middle of my twenties and there are so many things that I’ve experienced. Graduation, first job, first salary, staying away from home, dating, being broke, being bored with that job that you worked so hard to get, relatives and neighbours sneakily trying to find a suitable bride/groom for you when you’ve no idea about what you want to do next in your life. You are a mess.
You thought you’d have everything sorted, you had those dreams in your eyes when you graduated. But when you look at it you’ve nothing sorted, you don’t know which way to take. Then, you ask yourself “What am I doing?” Those dreams that you once wanted to turn into reality are still dreams.
But then you have those moments of pure bliss! Buying something for your parents with your hard earned money, being appreciated at work, excelling in a skill you never thought you had, realizing that you have friends who are real gems and are always there for you and maybe finding the love of your life. Twenties may be a mess, but then when you look back they are a beautiful mess!
Drawing from the experience that I’ve had so far and looking forward to the things that I expect to do during the remaining years of my twenties, these posts will come straight from my heart and maybe also the hearts of my friends. Music is close to my heart. Hence I’ll try to have a song title as the title of my posts. This again is the brainwave of my dear friend Chandni. Yes, please do suggest songs that you think capture any aspect of being a twenty something.
To start off with the songs, here is “Twenty something” by Jamie Cullum.
If you are a twenty something or not, I hope you’ll enjoy my posts. I hope you find something that you can relate with. Looking forward to your support throughout the challenge.
