The wait

The night has made way for the day,
But you’ve still kept me waiting.
Tired I am hoping that you’d come this way,
The wait is just frustrating.
Withered now are the roses,
Their fragrance now replaced by stink.
They are just like your promises,
Made this moment and then forgotten in a blink.
For how long will you make me wait?
I’ve lost hope that you’ll return.
Or maybe by then it will just be too late,
For I don’t know how life will then turn!
