Tips to be a better you
Often in life we go on that negative mode where we tell ourselves that we are not good enough and there many people out there who are better than us. Sometimes we begin to question ourselves about everything that we have done in our life and feel that we have done nothing at all. This often happens when someone you know achieves more success though the both of you started at the same time. And the very reason for our sadness is this- comparison! We keep comparing ourselves with others and we feel bad about ourselves. But why this self loathing? Aren’t we all unique? Why compare ourselves with others when we know that we can never be like them or they can never be like us? If you want to compare yourself with someone, then that someone has got to be you. There may be someone better than you in some area, but there can be no one who is a better you! If you want to improve, the best way is to become a better you every single day!
βThere is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.β
-Ernest Hemmingway
So here are a few tips on being a better you.
1. Stop wishing and start doing
All of us have our dreams and our wishes. But can we only keep dreaming and wishing all our lives? Definitely not! We have a life to live. And this life only becomes better if you work towards making those dreams come true! That makes a better you!
2. Never give up!
When you start working on your dreams, often there are many roadblocks. Starting something new is always difficult. But that does not mean that you have to give up! Keep doing something towards achieving that dream no matter how small a thing it is. Making slow progress is better than no progress.
3. Be unique, be yourself.
We often think about what others might be saying about us and adjust our lives in such a way that nobody can tell things about us. But what we fail to realize that people will always have something to say no matter what you do. So why lose yourself for impressing others?
4. Love, care and trust yourself
We often end up trying to do things that others want us to do and in the process lose out on helping the most important person in our lives- ourselves! As important as it is to keep the promises made to others, it is equally or even more important to keep the promises made to ourselves.Help yourself and love yourself, because nobody can love yourself more than you!
5. Smile more often and do things that make you happy.
A grumpy face looks good on nobody. Smile as often as you can. Enjoy the little moments that bring most joy. And to be a better you, do things that you love and love things that you do. Enjoy every moment of your life as that moment is never going to come back!
Good luck on your journey to being a better you!

It's always important to be true to yourself. Hard to remember sometimes though
Yes it is. And that is why we need constant reminders!
This is all such great advice! And you're right – there is no point at all in comparing yourself with others… that only leads to heartbreak. Thank you for sharing!
