Memories
Sometimes when I’ve nothing to do or sometimes when I don’t know what to
do, something happens and it takes me back in time. Memories are the
best part of one’s life. I go back in time to the times when I was a
child. The first time I went to school, my first song, my first dance…
Those friends of mine from school, the fun that we had, the pranks that
we played on each other, the picnics and trips that we went to! All of
it makes me happier! But the memories that come back to me are not
always pleasant ones- the painful ones keep coming back as well! And
sometimes one memory leads to another memory and then you get lost in
time. You realize that time has flown by! Sometimes you’re whole life
flashes in seconds before your eyes.
And now that I am in the final year of engineering, memories have become all the more special. It seems just yesterday when I was sitting on the last bench in first year debating with my friends what is the use of Electronics engineering students studying Mechanics or all those turbines! The first project and the survey for that! Ah! How time flies by!
Happy memories, sad memories,
moments of joy, moments of joy, all of them make our lives. People tell
forget the past and live in the present. But sometimes, memories are all
we have of the people whom we loved and knew so well! And so my mind
drifts back in time……
What are your favourite memories? Please do share…
This post is written for Day 19 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge.
Congratulations on pursuing that engineering degree. The memories I cherish are often those unexpected moments, a kindness of a friend, the steadiness of those I love. Yes, we all have bad memories that can pull us down, but even those memories remind us of the beauty and potential of each moment. We can move past the pain and create something new, in this moment. My favorite memory just now is playing with my two-year-old granddaughter just yesterday at the quilt show. She was quite proud of dancing in circles to harp music past the hundreds of beautiful quilts.
You are right about the bad memories. And nice to know that you enjoy playing with your granddaughter. Time spent playing with kids is time spent well! Thank you for sharing your memories 🙂
Congratulations on almost completing your engineering degree. If my father had his way, I would currently be an engineer (probably mechanical), instead I am a wife and mother of 4. My best memories of homeschooling my children and being able to make memories with them. My wedding day and the days our four children are my best memories. The trips to Busch Gardens we have taken with our children are high on my list of great memories. Thanks for getting me to think about our great memories. My wedding day also is one of the saddest memories I have since my father did not come to the wedding. So my grandfather walked me down the aisle.
Oh that is sad. But I am glad that you have had a share of good memories as well. Thank you for sharing 🙂
I'm glad of the good memories. I had warned you not to waste your time on the bad ones!! It's a waste of time!! :/
I am not wasting time on the bad memories Lance. Sometimes they just come to my mind.
I love memories of Autumns gone by!!
Nice to know that. Thanks for sharing 🙂
My current favorite memories are the ones I'm making with my children- first field trips, first loose tooth, etc. I'm so thankful that to be able to recall these moments and will cherish memories forever.
Lovely memories those are 🙂 Thanks for sharing 🙂
Bad memories often over take the good ones. But my current favorite memory was created by a junior of mine, whom I inspired to share what she writes. I was overwhelmed by the message she sent me as of how I inspired her. So its one of my best so far…. 🙂
Wow! That is great Ramya 🙂 Keep inspiring 🙂
Memories of all kinds affect us in some way or the other. While beautiful memories remind us of the good times we had with our loved ones, the bad memories act as nightmares scaring the daylights out of us.
Yes they do!
