I stand by window looking,
And I feel the wind blowing.
It starts as a gentle breeze,
But then becomes so fierce that I freeze.
Dark clouds gather in the sky,
The birds now towards their nests fly.
I see the flash of lightening and hear,
The thunder roar as though the end is near.
I smell the petrichor as the first drops fall,
The gusts of wind almost breaking the trees that stand tall.
It begins with a pitter patter and becomes a downpour,
Its so dark that it is hard to believe that it is just four.
I keep gazing as the drops fall from the sky,
Filling the land that was once parched dry.
Everything is washed clean by the rains,
From the lofty hills, to the valleys and plains.
The beauty that this is mesmerizes me,
I could stand there for hours and just see!
